How to get diagnosed fast.

It took us 20 years to get answered the question: "what is going on?". Can it be done faster?

4-weeks tracker: a useful tool to get diagnosed fast.

When we started looking for answers it appeared immediately a titanic task.

Some doctors believed it was psychological: my daughter didn't want to go to school, so she imagined a pain, that with the power of the brain became real: it is called a "Psychosomatic disease" and it does really exist.

But there was a big issue there: she liked going to school, she was happy to be with her friends and her teacher was adorable, kids truly loved her!

Fibromyalgia is an ugly beast. It was very little known at the time, and not recognised as a disabling illness, because there wasn't a known plausible cause, and it appeared to have no preference in where to hit. The only red thread was that it affected mainly females between 16 and 99 years, mostly over 40, but sometimes it was believed to be found in little girls.

No tests available, no cure.

As a single mother my resources were limited and I had my baby tested for many illnesses throughout the years: everything came back negative. She was "healthy".

Luckily we finally got to a diagnose, but it took almost 2 decades, I will write about it more specifically soon.

My goal today is to make you aware that a diagnosis can be easier and quicker made when the doctors know what to look for: they need to rule out other major illnesses like for example Lupus, MS, IBS and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

To do sp a health tracking journal can be very useful as it will highlight recurrent symptoms and they could be related to specific ailments or to the lifestyle you conduct.

This tracker was designed to check all the boxes needed to test in a more structural way: once all the sections are completed over 4 weeks, you can take it to your GP/Physician and they will start the process, identifying the main tests needed to establish a diagnosis, and saving you time and foremost a heap of money, as most tests are very expensive and often not included in common insurance packages.
